Catella acted as Senate Properties advisor in a major land transaction in Pasila

Catella acted as Senate Properties advisor in the divestment of 37,000 square metres of office, residential and retail building right in Central Pasila. The buyer is Skanska.

Skanska and Senate Properties have signed a preliminary agreement on a plot in Central Pasila next to Pasila railway station and Tripla shopping centre. The plot has in total 37,000 square metres of office, residential and retail building right. The completion of the transaction requires parliaments approval.

According to Skanska’s preliminary construction plans the plot will include office and retail premises as well as both subsidised and non-subsidised apartments. In addition, a car park that will serve all of the buildings will be constructed. The construction project will begin in the second half of 2021 by building the office and retail entities.

Pasila is a notable public transport hub with fast connections to Helsinki centre and the airport. Pasila railway station is under renewal at the moment and when completed in 2020 it will be the busiest station in Finland with approximately 47 million passengers annually. By 2040, Pasila will be home to approximately 30,000 residents and provide jobs for more than 50,000 people.
