Catella advised in the sale of Metsä Group’s and Mela’s headquarters in the Helsinki area

Catella acted as Metsäliitto Cooperative’s and Farmers’ Social Insurance Institution Mela’s advisor in the sale of their headquarters in Espoo, Tapiola to NREP.

Metsäliitto Cooperative and Farmers’ Social Insurance Institution Mela have sold their headquarters located in Espoo, Tapiola. The transaction was carried out as a sale and leaseback -arrangement, in which Metsä Group and Mela will continue as the anchor tenants with long lease maturities. The property was acquired by the Nordic real estate investor and developer NREP. The purchase price was approximately EUR 90 million.

The property is located in centre of Tapiola near to shopping centre Ainoa and Tapiola metro station. The premises are modern and architectonically impressive. The newer part of the property that was constructed in 2012 has received LEED Gold certificate. The lettable area of the property is approximately 20,000 square metres, and it is almost fully leased. In addition to the sellers, the building has been leased to several known companies such as Gasum, Roche and Helsinki Area Cooperative Bank. The building offers comprehensive services for its tenants and includes a warm parking garage.

Catella acted as the sellers’ financial advisor in the sales process.
