OVERVIEW: The SDRIF-E 2040 and its impact on the Île-de-France region’s economic and urban development
In July 2025, the Council of State approved the new Master Plan for the Île-de-France region, the SDRIF-E 2040, (“Le schéma directeur de la Région Île-de-France”), which defines the region’s major planning guidelines for the next 15 years. This authoritative reference document imposes constraints on both local authorities and private stakeholders, as well as providing a comprehensive picture of the prospects for economic and urban development in the Ile de France region over the next 15 to 20 years.
